River Country:

  • Walt Disney World's first water park
  • Open from June 1976 - November 2001
  • Used water from Bay Lake
  • Many theories of why it was closed include a brain-eating amoeba, legislation regarding water parks was passed in Florida, and that a capacity of 5,000 made it less profitable than other parks.
